Moderation
The map carries real conflicts. Here is where the line is, who draws it, and how to argue with it.
Plain English · This text has not been reviewed by a lawyer. It is published so the rules are readable before anyone is asked for money. Where it is unclear, the plainest reading against us is the one we will apply.
Why this page exists
People buy places that other people consider theirs. That is the point of the game and it is also its main risk. This page says in advance what we will and will not publish, so that nobody has to guess.
What we refuse
Hatred, threats or dehumanising language aimed at a nation, a people, a religion or any protected group.
Celebration or denial of war crimes, genocide or terrorism.
Impersonation of a real person, company, public body, army or state.
Sexual content, content involving minors, and content that is unlawful where we operate.
Links to malware, scams or unrelated commercial spam.
What we allow
Rivalry, taunting and national pride. A faction saying it has taken a place from another faction is the game working as intended.
Political statements about the game itself, including statements we disagree with, as long as they stay inside the limits above.
How it works
Faction names and emblems appear on the map straight away. A person reviews them afterwards and removes what should not have passed; a removed name or emblem is shown anonymously from then on, and the faction keeps its place and everything it has put in.
Messages and links attached to a place work the same way, and are reviewed again every time they change. Places we mark as high tension are different: those always wait for a person, never for a filter.
Our own posts to social networks only ever carry a name or emblem that a person has approved. Everything else is posted anonymously. This is stricter than the map on purpose: a post from our account cannot be taken back once people have seen it.
The map is not a political statement
Which places appear on the map, and which territories are listed as claimed by whom, follows public geographic datasets and the list of parties who publicly claim them. It is a description of who argues about a place, not our opinion about who is right.
Disputed territories are drawn on top of the countries that contain them. We do not cut them out of either side.
If you disagree with a decision
Write to [email protected] with the faction or place involved. A person will look at it again and answer.
Moderation decisions never change what has been paid or who holds a place. Money and moderation are separate systems on purpose.
