Payments are final
There are no refunds. Not as a policy we might bend, but as the shape of the thing you are buying. Read this before you pay, not after.
Plain English · This text has not been reviewed by a lawyer. It is published so the rules are readable before anyone is asked for money. Where it is unclear, the plainest reading against us is the one we will apply.
The short version
Money you put into a place stays in that place. We do not refund it, we do not hold it as a balance you can withdraw, and we never send money out to anyone.
This is true whether your faction wins the place, loses it an hour later, leaves the game, or never takes the top position at all.
Why it works this way
Your money is not a deposit and not a bet. The moment it is captured it becomes your faction's season total on that place, and that total is what the whole map is built on: it sets the price the next challenger has to beat.
If we refunded it, the price everyone else paid against would move backwards after the fact. Somebody who paid to beat a total could find that the total was withdrawn behind them. That is why this is not a policy choice we could relax: refunds would break the one number the game runs on.
It is also why there is nothing to withdraw. There is no wallet, no balance, no cash-out. Money enters the game and stops being money.
What you actually get
A contribution to your faction's total on that place, which counts for the rest of the season even if you stop playing and is never taken back off the total.
While your faction is on top: your faction's name, emblem and message shown on that place, and a record of the takeover.
At the end of the season: a sealed, permanent public record of where your faction finished.
The three cases people ask about
Somebody took the place from you minutes later. Nothing is returned. What you paid for is your faction's visibility on that place while it holds the top position, plus a contribution that stays on the total for the season — not a guaranteed length of time on top. A place that changes hands quickly is the game working, not a failure.
You left your faction, or it dissolved. Nothing is returned. What you contributed stays with the place. If it followed members out, anyone could sink a rival's standing by talking their members into leaving.
Your name or message was rejected by moderation. Nothing is returned, and your contribution still counts in full — it is shown anonymously. You can submit something else at no cost.
When we do NOT keep your money
A price that changed. We authorise your card first and capture only after the place is locked to you. If the price is no longer the one you were quoted — higher, lower, or gone because the place became free to claim — the purchase is cancelled and the authorisation is released. We never capture a different amount than the one you were shown.
A failed takeover. If someone beat you to the place while your payment was in flight, the authorisation is released and nothing is charged.
Our mistake. If we charge you twice for one purchase, or charge you for something that never happened, we fix it. That is us correcting an error, not a refund of a completed purchase.
An authorisation that is released is not a refund: no money ever left your account. Your bank may still show it as pending for a few days.
Your legal right to cancel
In the European Union and some other places, consumers can normally cancel a digital purchase within 14 days. That right ends when you ask for the service to be delivered immediately and acknowledge that you are giving it up.
That is exactly what buying a place is: it takes effect the second it is captured, in public, and it changes the price for everyone else. So we ask for that consent at checkout, in plain words, before you pay. You cannot buy without giving it, and we store which version of this text you agreed to.
Nothing here removes a right that the law of your country says cannot be removed. If your local law gives you something stronger than this page, your local law wins.
Before you contact your bank
Write to [email protected] first. If we got something wrong we would rather fix it than dispute it with your bank, and we answer.
If you raise a chargeback on a purchase that worked as described, we contest it with the record of your purchase and the consent you gave, and we may suspend the account while it is open. Using chargebacks to undo purchases you made on purpose is what the terms treat as manipulating the ranking.
